Draka Offshore Selected as Development Partner for Gode Wind II Offshore Wind Farm Project

DRAMMEN, Norway, September 14, 2010 - Draka Offshore announced today they have been selected by PNE WIND AG as
the technical development partner responsible for designing the subsea
inter-array power system for the Gode Wind II offshore wind farm project.
"Draka has more than 30 years of experience in engineering and
manufacturing subsea power cables," said Martin Dale, commercial director
for the subsea operations for Draka Offshore. "Being selected as the design
partner for the inter-array subsea power system by PNE WIND AG validates the
value that Draka delivers beyond product manufacturing."
Under terms of the agreement, Draka will provide electrical engineering
design of a complete power grid including subsea power cables, electrical
accessories, installation and testing protocols for the Gode Wind II offshore
wind farm.
Delivering Energy for up to 400,000 Homes
The Gode Wind II project will supply the potential energy requirement of
240,000 to 400,000 households. According to the permit from the Bundesamt fur
Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) the wind farm comprises eighty wind
turbines, each capable of producing 3-5 megawatts and is situated in
Germany's North Sea region (EEZ), 32.5 kilometers north of the island
Nordeney.
With technical partners like Draka Offshore now in place, the chief
representatives of the PNE WIND AG, Thorsten Fastenau (Offshore) and Roland
Stanze (Business Development), who also act as business managers of the
project company PNE Gode Wind II, stated they were confident that they would
be able to successfully manage the "Gode Wind II" project to begin
realization in 2011/2012.
