The campaign addresses the important issue of high Infant and Child Mortality by focusing on 3 key agendas - reducing malnutrition, increasing immunization and promoting good hygiene practices among pregnant mothers and caregivers.

Glenmark Foundation has announced that will adopt over 150 villages near Jaipur in the initial phase of ‘Project Kavach’. For expanding its reach, the Foundation has also tied with a local NGO called SIDART (Society for Integrated Developmental Activities Research and Training).

The launch of Glenmark’s - ‘Project Kavach’ in Jaipur recently was attended by prominent officials from the Government of Rajasthan; including Hon’ble Health Minister - Mr. Aimadudddin Ahmad Khan.

Despite improvements in health care facilities in recent past; children below the age of five constitute the most vulnerable group in India with lives being lost due to malnutrition, lack of medicines and vaccination, inadequate newborn care and childbirth-related causes, said Ms. Cheryl Pinto, Director Glenmark. Project Kavach of Glenmark Foundation addresses the core issue of high Infant and Child Mortality rates in the country and we hope to make a positive difference by implementing measures through successful partnerships with NGOs, Government and Local Communities, she added.
