MUNICH, September 21, 2011 -
- GO! T-Series electric scooters offer an environmentally friendly transportation option in all battery and capacity options for businesses and tradespersons
Pizza delivery with no exhaust odour, postal delivery without noise: GOVECS, the leading German manufacturer of innovative electric scooters, is expanding its product line-up to include its first cargo scooter. The new GO! T-Series can be seen by the public for the first time at POST-EXPO 2011, the international technology fair for postal, express and mailing industry. The vehicles were developed specifically for use in businesses and by tradespersons and are available with 50 to 170 litre cargo boxes.
Electric scooters are especially suited to the commercial sector due to their low maintenance costs. With the GO! T-Series, companies can choose between scooters of all battery and capacity types, depending on their intended application. The new series includes the GO! T1.2, GO! T2.4 and GO! T3.4 models with top speeds of up to 80 km/h. High-quality material processing and a sophisticated battery system provide durable, sustainable and energy-saving use in the daily business process. Another plus: the flexibility of the cargo box. In addition to the standard 50 and 170 litres, the flexible mounting system makes it possible to use individually adjusted boxes or even an existing box. A low centre of gravity guarantees secure handling and vehicle control even with a total load of 175 kilograms.
The hydraulic disc brakes in the GO! T3.4 model also make so-called “regenerative braking” possible, which returns energy. This saves power, increases the battery capacity, and increases the range of operation. The lithium-polymer batteries with Panasonic cells and diagnostic software provide a range of 50 to 70 kilometres and, in the case of the GO! T2.4 model, even a range of 100 kilometres. After that, the scooters can be recharged at any household plug using the integrated charger and a 220 or 110 volt plug. 85% of the charging capacity is reached after only two hours of charging. The batteries are very durable, with an expected lifespan of over 50,000 kilometres. A torque of 114 Nm allows the GO! T3.4 a constant and powerful acceleration.
With an average daily mileage of 100 kilometres, which is usual in the postal service, operators can save approximately 5 Euros per day as compared with petrol scooters. In the case of the French postal service, which has 16,000 scooters in use, this comes to 80,000 Euros per day - not to mention the reductions in CO2 and other environmentally harmful emissions.
The scooter will be available for order as of 1st October. The price of the basic version (GO! T1.2): € 4445 (including taxes). The pre-production model can be seen at the POST-EXPO in Stuttgart from September 27th through 29th: Hall 1, Stand 2042 (incl. test track).
