"Intersolar Europe" Already Breaking all the Records

From 2010, the "Intersolar" Trade Fair Will be Known as "Intersolar Europe"
PFORZHEIM, Germany, February 1 - On June 9, 2010, Intersolar, the world's largest solar technology trade
fair, will once again get underway in Munich. The trade fair, previously
known as "Intersolar", will this year take place under the new name
"Intersolar Europe". The change of name reflects the continuing
internationalization of the trade fair, which is now represented in many
locations around the world. The newly titled international solar technology
trade fair has already set a new record for exhibition space. Just under six
months before the trade fair is due to begin, 90 percent of the planned
exhibition space of 120,000 square meters, spread across eleven halls, has
been booked up. This means last year's total has already been surpassed.
Around 1,500 exhibitors are expected to attend the event at the New Munich
Trade Fair Center in June.
On June 9, 2010, Intersolar Europe will open its doors in Munich.
Intersolar, the world's leading trade fair, is now represented in North
America, India and China, as well as in Europe. Intersolar Europe is the
largest of the four events. 90 percent of the planned exhibition space of
120,000 square meters, spread across eleven halls, has already been booked
up. This represents a further increase on last year's total, which itself had
risen by 37 percent on the previous year to 104,000 square meters across nine
halls.
Exhibitor numbers will also surpass last year's total. Around 1,500
exhibitors from around the world will be presenting their products and
services at the New Munich Trade Fair Center in June, and the number of
registered exhibitors has already exceeded expectations. The organizers are
also optimistic as far as visitor numbers are concerned, and are expecting
over 60,000 visitors from all over the world to attend the 2010 event. Last
year, 50 percent of exhibitors and 39 percent of visitors to the exhibition
grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Center came from outside Germany. "We
are very excited about Intersolar Europe 2010. The trade fair's continuing
growth is a clear indication that the significance of Intersolar as a meeting
point for the international solar industry is still increasing. The figures
so far suggest that this year's exhibition will be another resounding
success," says Horst Dufner, Intersolar Project Manager at Solar Promotion
GmbH, Pforzheim, co-organizer of Intersolar Europe.
Industry-specific sections
The clear division of the trade fair into photovoltaics and solar thermal
sections makes it easier for exhibitors and visitors to find their way
around. As in 2009, a hall will be dedicated exclusively to the area of
"photovoltaics production". The organizers of Intersolar Europe - Solar
Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG
(FWTM) - will be once again cooperating in this area with the PV Group, an
initiative of the international semiconductor association SEMI specializing
in photovoltaics. The clear thematic structure of Intersolar Europe received
a very positive response from all who attended last year's event. It helps
participants find their way around and offers visitors the perfect framework
for a structured tour of the exhibition," says Klaus W. Seilnacht, CEO of
FWTM.
"Intersolar" becomes "Intersolar Europe"
In 2010, Intersolar will take place for the first time under the name of
Intersolar Europe. Since 2008, the organizers have been able to establish the
trade fair internationally, setting up Intersolar North America in San
Francisco, Intersolar India in Hyderabad, and the first collaboration between
Intersolar Asia and SOLARCON China in Shanghai. "The new, clear system of our
international trade fairs ensures ease of communication and orientation for
our exhibitors and visitors around the world. At the same time, it also
allows us to deliver a clear brand promise to the industry worldwide; that of
optimized networking for the global solar industry and all related industries
at an international trade fair," comments Horst Dufner.
Intersolar Europe will take place between June 9 and 11 2010 at the New
Munich Trade Fair Center.

About Intersolar
With over 1,800 exhibitors and 77,000 visitors on three continents,
Intersolar is the world's leading trade fair for the entire solar industry.
In 2010, Intersolar, which takes place in Munich, will be renamed "Intersolar
Europe". This change of name sends a clear message about the continuing
internationalization of Intersolar, which is now established on several
continents. With over 1,400 exhibitors and more than 58,000 visitors in 2009,
Intersolar Europe is the largest individual Intersolar event. It focuses on
the areas of photovoltaics and solar thermal technology and has established
itself as the leading international trade fair, attracting manufacturers,
suppliers, wholesalers and service providers alike.
In addition to Intersolar Europe, Intersolar North America was launched
in San Francisco in 2008. 2009 then saw the premiere of Intersolar India in
Hyderabad. This year Intersolar Asia is represented for the first time with
its own pavilion at SOLARCON China in Shanghai. Intersolar Europe is
organized by Solar Promotion GmbH, Pforzheim and Freiburg Wirtschaft
Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG. The trade fairs in North America, India
and China are organized by the subsidiaries Solar Promotion International
GmbH, Pforzheim and Freiburg Management und Marketing International GmbH
(FMMI).
