Port of Recife selects Master Terminal to deliver business efficiencies
Master Terminal, Jade’s specialist logistics software, has won another contract with Gulftainer, the largest privately owned port operator in the world, to help the company streamline its Port of Recife operations in Brazil.
The Port of Recife is the logistics hub for the capital of the State of Pernambuco in Northeast Brazil and the centre of a busy industrial area. Gulftainer will operate a berth at Port of Recife and use Jade’s Master Terminal TOS to handle 50,000 containers and 200,000 tons of cargo per year.
This is Jade’s third deal with Gulftainer, for the supply of Master Terminal TOS, the previous deals being Ruwais in Abu Dhabi and Umm Qasr in Iraq. It will be Jade’s first project in the rapidly expanding South American market.
Mr Peter Richards, Group Managing Director Gulftainer, says that the company views Jade as a strategic partner for the supply of cost-effective and flexible terminal operating systems that help the company set new standards of efficiency and productivity.
“As we continue to expand our global footprint and investment into key markets such as Brazil, our partnership with Jade will deliver systems that help us manage complex multi-terminal and mixed cargo environments.”
Howard Wren, Logistics Director for Jade, says that its partnership with Gulftainer is extremely important to the business and the company is delighted to extend its existing relationship and further help Gulftainer meet its goals.
“Our relationship with Gulftainer is very important. We are committed to continually delivering innovative solutions to help the business as it continues to transform the global market of transport services, through world class port operations.”
According to Wren, the Port of Recife deal is the latest in a series of international wins for the business and firmly plants Master Terminal into one of the fastest growing world markets.
“This exciting deal further demonstrates Jade Master Terminal’s leadership in terminal operating systems. Our proven track record and high standard of industry and technical knowledge delivers solutions that help our clients manage some of the most demanding terminals around the world.”
