HAMBURG -
- Asia-Europe Container Shipping Conference
- 8-9 December 2009, Crowne Plaza, Hamburg
The Journal of Commerce and UBM Global trade have this month launched the brand-new Asia-Europe Container Shipping Conference. The two-day conference will look at how the market can withstand current conditions and prepare for future growth. It will take place on 8 and 9 December at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Hamburg.
The first event of its kind, this innovative conference will bring together shippers, carriers, 3PLs and ports in the Asia-Europe trade to provide market insight, progressive discussion and unparalleled networking opportunities. As the decline in volume on the world’s largest liner trade route slows dramatically, intelligence gained at this event will help participants plot strategy for a potential recovery in 2010.
The Asia-Europe Container Shipping Conference will tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the Asia-Europe trade, including survival strategies; global trade forecasts; developing viable sustainability strategies; innovations in packaging; and improving inland logistics. High-profile speakers will include the likes of Nestle, CMA-CGM, HSH Nordbank, APL, DP World, Schenker AG, Port of Hamburg, NYK Line among many others.
“The Asia-Europe trade has suffered greatly from the global recession and the timing, magnitude and nature of a recovery are still far from certain,” said Peter Tirschwell, senior advisor to the Journal of Commerce. “I’m confident this conference will deliver answers to attendees on these and other crucial questions facing this market at this pivotal time.”
Organised by the creators of TPM, TPM Asia and BreakBulk, the Journal of Commerce’s Asia-Europe Container Shipping Conference presents an important step in bolstering the Asia-Europe container trade route and guiding the market towards recovery.
