Knight Libertas Expands Global Emerging Markets Team

Knight Capital Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NITE) today announced that Knight Libertas has established a Global Emerging Markets Sales team based in Greenwich, Conn., Hong Kong and London. Effective immediately, the following have joined the institutional fixed income broker-dealer: Augusto Castilho, Eamon Tubridy, Alfredo Viegas and Elena Antonova in the U.S.; Alesandro Gherzi, Alisa Mujagic, Nipun Ramaiya, Darren Reiss, Richard Segal and Will Trossell in the U.K.; and Jay Lee and Felix Sun in Asia.

“Knight is pleased to announce these hires as part of the build-out of our Global Emerging Markets business, which will focus on names across Latin America, Eastern Europe/Russia, Africa and Asia,” said Dan Mullineaux, managing director, global head of emerging markets fixed income. “We will continue to add top-tier talent in all three major time zones as we develop a full-service emerging markets platform encompassing sales, trading, strategy, research and capital markets capabilities.”

Biographies U.S. Augusto Castilho Director, Emerging Markets Team Knight Libertas

Augusto Castilho is Sales Director Latin America, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Castilho was the Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income for Itau USA Securities covering institutional investors of all types in North America. He also sold alternative investments to pension funds, endowments, foundations and similar institutions in the U.S. Prior to his New York tour, Augusto was a Portfolio Manager and Head Currency Trader for Itau Asset Management, with $15 billion in Brazilian corporate client assets under management. He also worked at first-tier institutions in the U.S. and Brazil, mainly Louis Dreyfus, Wachovia and Merrill Lynch, as a trader of institutional proprietary money, reporting to the Treasurer.

Augusto specializes in international, sovereign and corporate securities. He also has a deep knowledge of structured credit products, derivatives, currencies, interest rates and G-7 markets.

Augusto graduated with a bachelor in business administration from FGV-Fundacao Getulio Vargas, with concentrations in finance and management. He also has a master’s in economics from IBMEC, with a concentration on econometrics and macroeconomics, and a graduate education in finance from Harvard University, with a concentration in asset modeling and derivatives.

Eamon Tubridy is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Tubridy worked at RBS in emerging market sales. He has nearly 20 years of experience in emerging markets, primarily on the buy-side as a trader and analyst at the following organizations: Salomon Brothers Asset Management, OppenheimerFunds, Nomura Corporate Research & Asset Management and Moore Capital.

Eamon has a bachelor of science in finance from New York University. He is a CFA charterholder.

Alfredo Viegas is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Viegas managed global credit and multi-strategy hedge funds. At Advent Capital, he co-managed the convertible arbitrage and multi-strategy funds, and at Tiedemann Investment Group he managed a global event-driven hedge fund. Previously, Alfredo managed emerging markets funds in both debt and equity. The Lexington World Wide, an equity mutual fund he managed, was ranked the #1 in 1999 emerging markets equity fund in the U.S. out of 342 funds. At Salomon Brothers he was a Latin America equity strategist and emerging market corporate bond analyst. His career began with Morgan Stanley where he covered Latin America.

Alfredo has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and has a master’s in astrophysics from Swinburne University.

Elena Antonova is a Desk Analyst, Emerging Markets Team for Knight Libertas.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Ms. Antonova was an emerging markets analyst with RenCap Securities for equities and fixed income. Previously, Elena worked for KPMG in Russia as an auditor.

Elena has a master in finance from Brandeis University, International Business School.

Alessandro Gherzi is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas in London.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Gherzi was employed by J.P. Morgan where he worked in credit, cash, foreign exchange and structured product sales primarily covering CIS accounts. Previously, Alessandro was in emerging markets origination and sales for Credit Suisse First Boston. He also worked at Lehman Brothers International (Europe) in the syndication and debt capital markets group.

Alessandro has a bachelor of science and a master of science in management from London School of Economics and Political Science. He also has a pan-European master’s degree in management from Community of European Management Schools. He is fluent in Russian, Italian and English.

Alisa Mujagic is Director, Emerging Markets Sales and African Trading for Knight Libertas in London.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Ms. Mujagic was with UBA Global Capital responsible for sales and trading in Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa local and external corporate and sovereign debt. Previously, Alisa was Associate Director with UBS Investment Bank focused on Egypt and Sub-Saharan Africa external and local debt.

Alisa attended Columbia University with a master’s of international affairs. She also has a bachelor of science from Mercy College.

Nipun Ramaiya is Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas in London.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Ramaiya traded and structured Emerging Market products at Royal Bank of Scotland. Before joining RBS, he traded Emerging Markets for Merrill Lynch. There, he traded Foreign Exchange options, Local Markets and Emerging Markets CDS.

Nipun has a bachelor of technology in aeronautical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and a master of business administration in finance from Pennsylvania State University.

Darren Reiss is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas in London.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Reiss was director of emerging markets sales at HSBC covering U.K. hedge funds. Previously, Darren set up the U.K. sales team of MarketAxess. He began his career at Hambors/RBC responsible for investment grade credit sales to the Benelux markets.

Darren has a maths and management science at Manchester University.

Richard Segal is a Director, Emerging Markets Team for Knight Libertas in London.

Mr. Segal joined Knight Libertas to conduct analysis on EMEA corporates as well as emerging market sovereigns. For the past two years, he has focused on the African markets at UBA and Renaissance Capital. Immediately prior, he was Chief Strategist at Argo Capital, a global emerging markets credit fund. Earlier in his career, Richard worked at institutions such as Salomon Brothers, Bank of America and Santander Investment. He has been a consultant to major commercial banks, institutional investors and corporates, where he in turn focused on Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

During his career, Richard has developed a variety of economic and financial models concerning sovereign risk, term structure of bonds, and relative value of currencies and commodities. He is the editor and co-author of a guide on the sub-Saharan capital markets, the author of “The Russian Economy in 1994″ and was a contributing author to “The Handbook of International Investing.”

Richard has a degree in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Will Trossell is a Director, Emerging Markets Team for Knight Libertas in London.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Trossell established the emerging markets sales desk at Calyon CIB focused on trading credit bonds and CDS. Prior to this, he was on the emerging markets sales team at UBS.

Will has a bachelor of science in economics from Plymouth.

Jay Lee is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. Lee was the Head of Structured Credit and Credit Sales at Calyon CIB where he was responsible for covering the Korean markets. Previously, Jay was Vice President, Fixed Income at Fortis Bank.

Jay has a bachelor degree in tourism development and recreation from Kyoung-Ki University.

Felix SUN is a Director, Emerging Markets Sales for Knight Libertas in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Knight Libertas, Mr. SUN worked at RBC for two years in fixed income and structured product sales. Previously, he was a bond portfolio manager at Ping An bank for six years. At AXA Investment Managers, Felix was a risk management analyst. He began his career at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ as a marketing manager in the corporate loan sales department.

Felix has a master of business administration from Ecole Superieure de Gestion.
