MANCHESTER, England, December 13, 2010 - Following their successful rescue from the San Jose mine in Atacama, the
Chilean miners arrived in Manchester this afternoon (12th December) at the
joint invitation of Manchester United and Vina Concha y Toro. A group of
miners enthusiastically accepted the invitation, and made the trip from
Chile, accompanied by the Chilean football legend Elias Figueroa, who is on
hand to offer his expertise and knowledge of football.

The miners were welcomed by a dinner in the Stretford Suite at Old
Trafford, hosted by the legendary England and Manchester United player Sir
Bobby Charlton. Sir Bobby, from a mining community himself, marked the
occasion with a heartfelt welcome to each miner. Tribute was paid to the
courage and bravery shown by the miners who, after 69 days underground
fighting for their lives, became a true example of unity, strength, and
teamwork towards a common aim, which resulted in a successful outcome.

Manchester United extended this special invitation as, from the start of
the events in the San Jose mine and right until the final rescue, the club's
executives and technical team empathised with the values shown by the miners,
as well as understanding their common enthusiasm for football. As a partner
of Manchester United, Vina Concha y Toro took the opportunity to share in
this invitation, as they too understand the values that the miners represent:
ones which are admired worldwide.

Tomorrow, Monday 13th December, the miners will take part in a training
session and a match at Manchester United's training ground Carrington,
organised by the club's technical staff and meet Sir Alex Ferguson and the
players in a private meeting. At 8pm, they will then watch the match between
Manchester United and Arsenal at Old Trafford.
