Manage Your .tel Entirely From Your Android Device
LONDON, April 20, 2010 - Telnic Limited (telnic.tel), the organization behind
the award-winning communications-focused .tel names, today announced that its
management app for .tel names, My.tel for Android, is now available for free
download in the Android Market and direct from apps.telnic.tel.
"Android is starting to be perceived as the non-Apple go-to
operating system for smart phones and tablets in 2010," said Henri Asseily,
CTO and Chief Strategist at Telnic. "By adding My.tel for Android to the
stable of our free and open source applications, .tel name owners can manage
their contact information in real time using a multiplicity of devices and
form factors, suitable to their needs at that moment in time."
A .tel name is the only domain that can be set up and run
entirely from a growing number of smart phones. It acts as a single point of
contact accessible from any internet-connected device, and the data remains
under the control and ownership of the .tel name owner. Hundreds of thousands
of .tel names have been registered by individuals and businesses, who are now
taking advantage of the easy-of-use, discoverable online presence under their
control, without having to touch a traditional PC, use any web development
software or pay for hosting.
Other applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch include
My.tel and Superbook, the 'one-click-save' .tel directory which also shows
the location of contacts and their time zone. Additionally, applications that
provide some management functionality and .tel information look-ups are
available for BlackBerry, Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mobile devices. All
of the applications are free and released under BSD-like open source license.
