New Officers, Board of Directors Announced for the National Association of Professional Background Screeners

MORRISVILLE, North Carolina - The National Association of Professional Background Screeners held its Annual Conference April 18-21, in St. Louis, Mo. During the annual membership meeting, Dan Shoemaker, Director Central Business Unit, USIS, was elected as chairman. Laura Randazzo, COO, HRPlus was elected to the position of chairman-elect. Theresa Preg, AVP Market Development, LexisNexis Co., was elected to the position of treasurer and Fred Giles, National Diagnostics Inc., was elected as secretary. Larry Lambeth, President, Employment Screening Services Inc., will serve as immediate past chairman.
The following members were elected as directors, serving two year terms: Bruce Berger, Vice President, CARCO Group Inc.; Judy Gootkind, VP Finance and Administration, Creative Services Inc.; Julie Hakman, President, AmericanChecked; Nancy Lynn Roberts, Esq., Chief Compliance Officer, Trak-I Technology LLC; and Caryl McMains, VP Business Development and Sales, ClearStar.net.
Continuing to serve on the Board of Directors in the position of directors with one term remaining are: Noelle Harling, Vice President, Frasco Profiles; Curt Schwall, Finance and Compliance Leader, Acxiom Information Security Services; and Tim Brothers, National Sales Manager, Innovative Software Solutions LLC.
The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS(R)) is the leading national resource for issues related to the rapidly expanding background screening industry. Founded in 2003 as a nonprofit trade association, NAPBS promotes ethical business practices and fosters awareness of privacy rights and consumer protection issues. It is the foremost leader in the movement toward establishing generally accepted and reliable standards for background screening professionals and organizations. Now representing over 650 member companies in the U.S. and internationally, NAPBS is active in public affairs and presents a unified voice for the industry in the development of national, state, and local regulation.
