Orrick Signs Lease for New London Office

LONDON - International law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP has signed a lease to move its London headquarters to the new Menolly development at 107 Cheapside. The lease is for 44,500 sq ft of space at the new 185,000 sq ft development. Orrick has also taken an option over a further 20,000 sq ft and plans to occupy the new office by the end of 2009.
“This is a significant move for the firm in London and provides a fantastic opportunity for expansion of the London platform,” commented London Managing Partner, Martin Bartlam. “We are excited about the move which will put us in the heart of this redevelopment area of the city in a prestigious and modern space ideal for our clients and staff.”
This development was in the same week that Orrick’s New York office announced it has signed a lease to move to the Blackrock Building at 51 West 52nd Street. The Blackrock Building is owned by CBS Broadcasting, Inc, and the firm plans on occupying in the space in spring 2010.
Since originally opening in London in 1998, Orrick has successfully expanded its operations to around 350 lawyers in Europe, and has opened and significantly extended offices in Paris, Milan, Rome, Moscow, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, in addition to its significant growth in London.
