OXFORD, England - PharmaTelevision(R), the authoritative channel for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and related industries, announced today the launch of its new service PharmaTelevision News (PTV News), the World’s first daily television news and analysis programme for the sector.
Dr Fintan Walton, CEO of PharmaVentures - the company behind PharmaTelevision - said, “By launching PTV News, we are bringing a dynamic daily programme, covering the business of healthcare. This is a significant development, especially when you need to understand the current rapid evolution and challenges faced by our industry. Company executives and those in government and academia crave up-to-the-minute and incisive analysis - in a format that is accessible and convenient to them. And that’s what PTV News is all about.”
Dr Walton continues, “PharmaTelevision has already established a reputation for authoritative programming because we understand what pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies’ executives want. Many of our viewers are C-Suite executives, and PTV News will be invaluable to them and many others in the industry and related services.”
PTV News is produced and presented by Paul Larsmon. Mr Larsmon has worked as a broadcast television journalist for 25 years, covering general news, business and politics. He has been both presenter and producer in several news broadcasters, including the major British television news company ITN. He joined PharmaTelevision as Executive Producer earlier this year and has been responsible for getting PTV News launched. Mr Larsmon said: “This has been an exciting project involving everything from commissioning a fantastic set to organising a news gathering operation. We have seen a huge amount of interest from the industry and established an excellent pool of top commentators from around the world for the programme. I’m a news man to my core, and I’m really looking forward to developing PTV News into the best of its kind in business television.”
PTV News is available on free trial for a limited time to viewers subscribing to the PharmaTelevision Premium Content package. Interested parties should contact enquiries@pharmatelevision.com, or go to the website www.pharmatelevision.com. Dr Walton says, “PharmaTelevision already addresses the current issues and future predictions of the industry, including those of the top companies, through news, analysis, interviews, panels and discussions. Interviewees come from leading corporations such as Johnson & Johnson, Merck & Co., sanofi-aventis, GSK, MerckSerono, and Roche.”
In addition to the News, subscribers to PharmaTelevision Premium Content can access over 200 high quality interviews and panel discussions recorded since June 2006, with fresh content delivered on a regular basis. Dr Walton concludes, “Content from PTV News and other programmes from PharmaTelevision Premium Content will be shortly available through other pay-to-view outlets.
