Roke Appoints Signals Intelligence Expert to Expand Electronic Surveillance Business

ROMSEY, England, December 1, 2011 -
Roke Manor Research, a Chemring group company, has appointed Chris Slack as Signals Intelligence Business Development Manager.
Chris will support Roke’s product development team to drive global demand for its LOCATE strategic communications monitoring and geolocation systems, and will also deliver operational support to the successful RESOLVE Land Electronic Warfare product family.
Chris joins Roke to work alongside his colleague, Gavin O’Connell MBE, having recently been mobilised to 30 Commando (Information Exploitation) Group for an operational tour overseas.
Chris Tarran, Electronic Warfare Business Sector Manager for Roke, said: “Not only does Chris have extensive knowledge of the Signals Intelligence and Electronic Warfare sectors, but he is also recognised by the user community for his considerable advanced operational expertise. Chris’s core focus will be to expand our strategic systems into the international market place.”
Chris has 26 years’ experience within the electronics and telecommunications domain, having started his career in the commercial sector before joining UK Forces in 1990. As a Royal Navy Communications Surveillance Specialist and qualified Radio Officer, Chris’s operational career included numerous land, littoral and maritime operations with the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and other government departments. Departing the Royal Navy in 2000, Chris has spent the last decade developing his career in the Signals Intelligence and Electronic Warfare business sector, working from various locations in the UK and overseas.
