LONDON -
- October 19th at London’s Grange St. Paul’s Hotel
Vision Events, the organisers of IT ChannelVision Europe have announced that Sir Peter Rigby, Chairman and Chief Executive of the SCH Group, will appear on stage in the Keynote Interview session at the opening of this year’s conference.
IT ChannelVision brings together Solution Providers from more than 30 countries in Europe. In an armchair Keynote Interview, Sir Peter Rigby will share his industry experiences, and his vision of the future for the channel and the role of technology. The format will be an interview style led by international I.T. channel editor, Bob Snyder, and open to the audience.
Sir Peter Rigby has spent his entire career in the IT industry. From a modest role as a junior assistant with the UK subsidiary of an American technology manufacturer, he has gone on to create, manage and grow what is today the largest privately owned Information Technology Group in Europe with more than over 7000 employees and 2.5 billion pounds Sterling in sales.
With 2000 pounds of his own capital, he started Specialist Computer Recruitment (SCR) and soon turned the business into a national and then European organisation. Specialist Computer Holdings (SCH plc), is the parent company which has made some 50 European acquisitions since 1975. Many of the early pioneers of the channel have been acquired by SCH as the channel consolidated and major national players emerged. Today international business accounts for some 65% of the Group’s revenues.
Russell Morrow, Group Events Director at UBM said, “We are delighted that Sir Peter will join our pan-European IT channel conference as his business acumen and international expertise are an example to all of us in the IT industry.”
Sir Peter Rigby said:
“I am delighted to have been invited to share my thoughts and views on the specific challenges within the channel today.
“The channel hasn’t fundamentally changed in its 38 year history but the world is changing dramatically, the next generation to sell to know more, want more, and are transforming the way we interact.
“There are, however, vast opportunities for businesses that are innovative and agile enough to adapt and change their business models.
“I am very pleased to be joining IT Channel Vision to share my experiences working in the European IT Channel. I hope to provide an insight into how we’ve achieved 35 years of profitable growth to become Europe’s largest independent technology group. It is a track record of which I am deeply proud.
“At SCH, we have always invested heavily in all areas of the business to ensure we can meet the changing requirements of our customers. Ours is also an organization built on family values, with a flexible and adaptable way of working focused on getting things done.”
This year’s IT ChannelVision conference will take place in London from October 19 - 21 at the stunning Grange St. Paul’s Hotel. Content for the conference programme will include keynotes from Gartner analysts, leading Channel gurus, case studies and educational and interactive boardroom sessions.
