Tata Interactive Systems Wins Platinum for Mobile Learning Technology in LearnX 2011 E-learning and Training Award

Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) innovative Vocabulary Flash Card mobile application developed for NSW AMES won the Platinum Award at the LearnX Asia Pacific 2011 E-Learning and Training awards in the Best Use of Mobile Learning Technology category.

The Flash Cards application conceptualized by NSW AMES & TIS is a mobile-based application for teaching English vocabulary to adult migrants in Australia. NSW AMES uses these cards as a portable extension of their classroom training and on-line learning modules. The Flash Cards offer learners an accessible and enjoyable way to review modules on mobile devices.

The application involved development of multiple client applications for three different delivery platforms-iPhone, Flash Lite enabled devices and Android-based devices.

The LearnX Asia Pacific 2011E-learning and Training Awards have three levels-Platinum, Gold and Finalist. These three levels enable organizations, teams and individuals to share in the values and achievements associated with submitting a quality driven Award entry. Three new award categories were introduced this year, one of them is ‘Best use of Mobile Learning Technology’ and the TIS Flash Cards are the first winners. The Award focuses on the use of mobile technology for learning with a significant positive impact on outcomes.
