Telecoms' Fortunes Pick Up
By World Finance, PRNEThursday, October 21, 2010
LONDON, October 22, 2010 - After a sluggish 2009, which saw global telecoms service provider
revenues grow by only 2.2 percent yoy - the slowest rate in a decade - 2010
has seen healthier returns. But with this opportunity comes new challenges.
In the west, consumer enthusiasm for mobile internet access has seen wireless
infrastructure creaking under the strain. Emerging markets offer easier
growth, but technology moves quickly, and success requires more than good
maintenance.
World Finance recognises the companies staying one step ahead, developing
new modes of delivery, product designs, consumer offerings and software
solutions.
