Promoting best practice in sustainable theatre technology, this award
will be selected by visitors to PLASA2010 from lighting and stage equipment
used to illuminate an exhibition outlining the work of The Theatres Trust's
Ecovenue project.
Ecovenue is a European Regional Development Fund backed environmental
sustainability project being run by The Theatres Trust which aims to make a
real difference to the environmental performance of 48 London theatres, and
is leading the way in promoting the reduction of carbon emissions through the
provision of free theatre-specific, environmental business support.
All exhibiting PLASA2010 manufacturers have been invited as part of an
open call to nominate products to be considered for the award. Products
entered represent a significant step forward in resource efficiency of an
existing product, or a new product intended to contribute to the resource
efficiency of a theatre. Participating manufacturers and products will be
announced on Friday 10 September 2010.
Visitors to PLASA2010 are invited to vote on the product on the Ecovenue
stand that they feel best represents progression towards sustainable theatre
technology.
The winner will be presented with the award on Tuesday 14 September at
6.00pm at a ceremony on the Theatres Trust Ecovenue stand, the culmination of
'Sustainability Tuesday', a day of seminars focused on sustainability issues.
The Trust will be running two seminars during the day, highlighting findings
from the Display Energy Certificates achieved so far by participating venues
and providing advice on improving the sustainability of theatres.
The Theatres Trust is pleased to acknowledge the support of the following
organisations in the production of the Ecovenue Stand. BioTecture, Creative
Technology Ltd, ETC, Global Design Solutions, Megaman UK, Orbital Sound,
Philips Entertainment, PLASA Events, Scenery Salvage, ShowTex, and White
