LONDON - Join One Young World’s Search for 1500 Future Leaders Today & Change
Tomorrow
Young people need a voice. The impending G20 Summit, in London
on 2nd April, brings together world leaders to enhance global coordination in
order to help restore global economic growth. Every major issue we face is
one with global implications for the future of mankind. And young people have
the biggest stake in that future.
One Young World gives young people interested in global issues
and the future of the world a serious voice, and a platform from which to
inspire and affect change. It is the first initiative that brings together
the next generation of decision makers, comprising 1500 people from 192
countries born between February 1984 and February 1986.

The recently launched Web 2.0 Recruitment social network,
www.BraveNewTalent.com, is leading the public search for delegates.
“It has never been more important for the next generation to take a
leadership stance;” says Lucian Tarnowski, Founder & CEO of
BraveNewTalent.com and Global Enterprising Young Brit of the Year 2009. “We
have a lot on our shoulders and One Young World is the platform through which
we can bring about change. I am thrilled to be a delegate myself and to be
assisting One Young World in finding 1500 future leaders for this
initiative.”
Young people around the world can apply to be delegates to One
Young World by joining through Facebook
(apps.facebook.com/oneyoungworld/), MySpace
(www.myspace.com/460031865), Bebo
(www.bebo.com/app/oneyoungworld) or directly on the site at
www.BraveNewTalent.com/OYW. Once confirmed and accredited delegates
can use BraveNewTalent.com’s unique social media-based voting system to gain
support through social networks, websites and the media. This peer-based
process will be used to decide the final delegation, giving everyone an equal
chance of being selected.
The issues for the Plenary Sessions at the Inaugural Summit are:
- Developing political leadership
- Global business and its role in shaping society
- Interfaith dialogue between world religions
- The environment and its protection
- The media: its changing identity and power
- Global health challenges
Founded by David Jones and Kate Robertson of Euro RSCG
Worldwide, One Young World has already gained the support of the following
global leaders all of whom will be attending the Inaugural Summit as
Counsellors to the delegates: Kofi Annan; Archbishop Desmond Tutu; Bob
Geldof; Professor Nick Haysom, United Nations Director of Political Affairs;
Bart Becht, global CEO of Reckitt Benckiser; Carole Stone, founder of
YouGovStone and Elio Leoni Sceti, Chief Executive of EMI Music.
David Jones, founder of One Young World and Global CEO of Euro
RSCG Worldwide commenting on the social networking programme said; “Achieving
this level of support so early is a mark of just how important this
initiative is. We need young people everywhere to sign up and use
BraveNewTalent.com’s tools to spread the word through their social and
professional networks to ensure One Young World can reach out around the
world and help make the world a better place.”
The total cost per delegate is EUR3000 and this covers all
their travel to, from and in London, all accommodation, sustenance and the
Summit itself. Each delegate’s fee can be covered by sponsorship, generated
by the delegates themsleves using government, educational, family and
corporate support, or by One Young World with the aid of organisations
involved in the initiative. The One Young World direct sponsorship programme
will focus on outstanding applications and individuals.
In a world first, delegates will be selected in proportionate
representation to the world’s population with at least two delegates from
each of 192 countries and the remaining 1,116 places apportioned in line with
a country’s relative population. This will be the first time that countries
such as India and China have their population proportionally represented at a
global level. China for example will send 259 delegates, India 223 and the
USA 61.
One Young World’s commitment to proportional representation
means only a few can be selected from each country, so early registration is
advisable. Sign up or find out more at www.OneYoungWorld.org or stand as a
delegate at www.BraveNewTalent.com/OYW,
apps.facebook.com/oneyoungworld/, www.myspace.com/460031865 and

About One Young World
One Young World (www.OneYoungWorld.org) was launched in
Davos and has the support of Kofi Annan, Desmond Tutu and Bob Geldof among
others. The initiative aims to use the internet as a way to mobilise young
people. One Young World’s social media partner, BraveNewTalent.com, is using
the internet to gather together 1500 leaders of tomorrow born between 1984
and1986, from 192 countries around the world. Inaugural Summit will take
place in London on February 8th-10th 2010. Draft resolutions will be
formulated by the 21st Century School at Oxford University.
About BraveNewTalent.com
BraveNewTalent.com (www.BraveNewTalent.com) is
revolutionising the recruitment and employer branding market by flipping the
recruitment model. Rather than employers going out to the market fishing for
talent we enable the market (talent) to come to employers through social
media - i.e. from top down to bottom up. This results in a reduction in the
communication gap between candidates and employers as well as a far more cost
effective and efficient talent management pipeline. We are tapping this into
the world’s mainstream social networks. This will get around the problem of
employers fears of using social networking sites for recruitment purposes.
