Victory for Odile Jacob

PARIS, September 14, 2010 - Odile Jacob has taken note of the two judgments handed down today by the
EU General Court on the appeals it had lodged against European Commission's
decisions in the Editis case.

Odile Jacob welcomes the annulment of the Commission decision of 30 July
2004 approving Wendel as the purchaser of the target assets sold by
Lagardère.

Odile Jacob wishes to highlight the fact that the General Court had
already annulled, in June 2010, the Commission decision regarding access to
the Commission's case file.

Odile Jacob's managing director Bernard Gotlieb will continue to assess,
together with counsels Olivier Fréget and Michel Struys of Allen & Overy LLP,
the implications of the General Court's judgments.

Odile Jacob wishes to ensure that all appropriate legal consequences are
drawn from the current situation and reserves the right to exercise all
options open to it.
