LONDON, February 10, 2011 - One in five employees have received a Valentine's Day gift at
work, according to a recent survey conducted by office design company Maris
Interiors. There were no surprises in the most popular gifts received -
flowers (72% of gifts) and chocolates (8%).

As well as wine (5%) and beauty products (5%), the survey
revealed that some more unusual Valentine's gifts had been sent to the
workplace. One woman was baffled to receive a crate of seafood last February
14th
. Other alarming gifts included a box of condoms, a lemon juicer and a
live goldfish.

Women were found to be 12 times more likely to receive gifts
at work than men. Of those employees who received a Valentine's present at
their desk, 73% said they knew who had sent the gift. The woman who received
the crate of seafood said she didn't know who her admirer was…

Maris Interior's Chairman, Michael Howard, said "Everyone
loves to receive a gift on Valentine's Day - but be careful not to embarrass
anyone in front of their boss or their colleagues and you should probably
think twice before posting off lemon juicers!"
