Issues concerning the energy, climate and economic crisis are at the top of the international agenda and in the minds of all European citizens and policy makers. Wind energy is already a major power-generating technology in Europe and offers a solution that can no longer be ignored in terms of energy security, clean power production, and sound economic investments.

‘Wind Energy - The Facts’ is a European Commission-funded project, widely considered to be the most important wind energy reference in the world. It presents a detailed overview of the wind energy sector, with the most up-to-date information on the essential issues concerning wind energy today.

The new edition of the ‘Wind Energy - The Facts’ publication forms the basis of a third dissemination workshop and belongs to a series of workshops that EWEA is organising, in collaboration with national wind energy associations, to highlight issues related to the further development of wind power in the most promising emerging markets.

The workshop is one of the events being organised for the Global Wind Day 2009. Within the framework of the Wind Day, the following Hungarian wind farms parks will be open to visitors from 12-15 June: Levél, Kisigmánd, Szápár, Kulcs, Erk, Bükkaranyos and Pécs.
