100 Tonnes of Food Ready for Somalia / Human Plus e.V. Urgently Seeking Partners for Distribution on Location

NETTETAL, Germany, December 6, 2011 -
The international aid organisation Human Plus e.V. is providing a total of 100 tonnes of food for the victims of the catastrophic famine in Somalia. Roughly 35,000 to 40,000 people in the camp at Dobley in Somalia, approximately 20 kilometres from the Kenyan border, are affected by famine. Women and children above all are dying of undernourishment and disease every day.
“Our employees are giving reports of indescribable suffering in Dobley. Many children are dying every day because the donated food, medicine and water are not reaching them in time. This is a disgraceful situation for us, for the western world,” reports Anestis Ioannidis, President of Human Plus e.V. Organisational failings, conflicts of interest and complications with distribution on location are constantly costing many lives, says Ioannidis.
Also for Human Plus e.V. it is difficult to find trustworthy assistance for the distribution of the aid on location. The aid organisation is therefore urgently searching for international and local partners in order to guarantee immediate assistance. Apart from the supply of food and treated drinking water, this also includes the provision of clothing and medicine. The distribution should start from Mombasa. As soon as Human Plus e.V. has found a suitable partner for Somalia, the aid supplies will immediately be flown to Mombasa.
Human Plus e.V. urgently requests interested aid organisations to get in contact:
