LONDON -
Aconex has been selected by Wates Construction to provide its web-based collaboration system to Luton Borough Council’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. Aconex will be used to manage information and link the public and private sector parties involved in the projects.
The Luton BSF programme will see the redevelopment and upgrade of secondary schools across the borough over the next four years. Aconex will provide council representatives, Wates Construction and other project participants with a web-based system for managing information such as drawings, documents and correspondence. By using the system, team members will be able to access, distribute and track their information in real-time using a single, central platform.
Steve Edwards, Senior Design Manager at Wates Construction, said:
“To keep this programme on track, it’s important that we efficiently manage the storage and exchange of information on each project and across the programme. Aconex will provide project members and stakeholders with fast access to their data when required. The system will also provide us with visibility over the flow of information and a record of transactions and correspondence.”
Aconex has also been implemented on the 167 million pounds Sterling BSF programme in the London Borough of Hackney, where project members are using the system to manage thousands of documents and mail items each month.
Yuval Attias, Aconex Regional Manager Europe, said:
“There are few sectors where effective collaboration is more important than on infrastructure developments. The compressed timelines, multiple stakeholders and public nature of these programmes means that efficient management and exchange of information is crucial.
“Aconex has been designed and configured around the needs of these projects and will enable Wates Construction to improve efficiency and control risk by standardising document management, approvals, correspondence management and tender handling across the entire programme.”
