Call for Nominations for the 3rd International "One World Award" 2012

LEGAU and BONN, Germany, September 13, 2011 -

- Recognition for People who Make the World a Better Place -

The German organic food manufacturer RAPUNZEL and the international umbrella organization for organic agriculture (IFOAM) open the nomination period for the third International “One World Award”. From now on, it is possible to nominate innovative ideas, projects and/or individuals who campaign for climate protection and other environmental projects or who take on social responsibility.

For the third time in 2012 the International “One World Award” will be presented to people and their projects that promote the positive aspects of globalization through their outstanding commitment and creative solutions and that encourage others because they make the future worthwhile. The award recognizes sustainable ideas and projects that integrate ecological, economic and social aspects.

In addition to the “One World Award”, the “Lifetime Achievement Award” will be presented. This award recognizes prominent pioneers/individuals who have dedicated their lives to the advancement and support of the organic movement.

RAPUNZEL will accept nominations for both awards from now on. The application deadline is November 31, 2011. Please submit the nominations to RAPUNZEL in English.

Details about the nomination criteria and a list of all previous finalists and laureates can be found at www.one-world-award.de. Use this list to also assess the chances of the project that you want to submit or simply let yourself get inspired. Self nominations are not possible.

Based on the criteria, a competent jury will select the winner of the “One World Award” 2012 from a group of five finalists. The award is endowed with prize money of 25,000 Euro and the bronze “One World Statue” that is also sponsored by RAPUNZEL. The “Lifetime Achievement Award” winner will receive the “One World Statue”.
