KIEV, Ukraine - CFC Consulting presents ESCrating.com, an unofficial rating of the states participating in the Eurovision Song Contest designed to further boost the popularity of Europe’s No 1 annual music event and encourage the competitive spirit between its participants.

Since Eurovision was first launched in 1956, the ESC family has grown bigger and bigger. The contest has gained more popularity among its viewers and has seen more interest from the participating states and from the global media. In 2004, the total number of countries taking part in Eurovision grew to 36, which resulted in the introduction of a Semi-Final elimination round. It is this landmark development in ESC’s history that the designers of this new rating have taken as the starting point for ranking participating countries for overall popularity.

According to ESCrating.com, the Top Ten countries are: Greece (132), Ukraine (129), Russia (125.5), Serbia (110), Turkey (93.5), Bosnia & Herzegovina (90.5), Romania (79.5), Sweden (64.5), Armenia (59.5) and Latvia (57.5). These countries showed outstanding results and splendid performance over time. “Many world competitions, especially in sports, have ratings of this kind and we wondered why Europe’s biggest music event does not,” says Maryna Skomorokhova, PR Coordinator of CFC Entertainment.

ESCrating.com will be updated every year to show each country’s current ranking, as well as its prospects for improvement in upcoming years.

“The idea behind ESCrating.com is not only to keep up the competitive spirit during ESC 2009 but also to encourage global interest in Eurovision in the future. With the help of the ESCrating.com, we will know who is the ultimate No 1 singing nation in Europe,” says Gennadii Kurochka, Managing Partner of CFC Consulting.

CFC Entertainment is the brain-child of CFC Consulting. In 2005, CFC Entertainment has been the Official PR Partner of Ukraine at ESC in Kyiv.
