Walkers Seminar Series Offers Insight on Financial Trends in Asian Markets

HONG KONG, October 26, 2010 - Leading international law firm Walkers, along with other financial,
investment, and legal experts recently provided insight on market trends and
opportunities in Asian financial markets during a seminar series titled
"Global Growth, Regional Gain." The series leveraged case studies and real
experiences working with global clients to explore Asia's central role in
global financial growth in the hedge fund, private equity, and finance
industries.

"We have seen growing interest in Asia as a financial centre over the
past few months. Even the typically slow summer months were extremely busy
this year," said Guy Locke, Head of Walkers' Corporate and Financial
Restructuring Group, Head of Asia and Managing Partner of Walkers' Hong Kong
office. "Offshore-onshore interaction has become a necessity to favorably
resolve restructuring and insolvency issues resulting from the global
financial crisis. Likewise, the economic picture in China will be central to
the success of the global economic recovery. As economies around the world
continue to rebuild, the Asian markets present tremendous opportunities."

During the three-city seminar series, financial professionals including
Walkers partners and experts from Advantage Partners
(www.advantagepartners.com/en/index.html), Carlyle
(www.carlyle.com), China-ASEAN Capital Advisory Company Ltd, Deutsche
Bank (www.db.com/index_e.htm), Harvest Capital Partners
(www.harvestcapital.com.hk), Rogers Investment Advisors
(www.rogersia.com/mission.php), Goldman Sachs
(www.goldmansachs.com), and White & Case (www.whitecase.com)
offered in-depth analysis of regional issues and market trends in private
equity, finance, restructuring and insolvency, hedge funds, and fiduciary
services.

"With the region increasingly viewed as a financial growth centre, this
seminar series allowed us to bring together experts to explore the central
role that Asia plays in the global economy and examine the key market trends
and issues across the region including Hong Kong, Beijing and Tokyo," said
Mr. Locke. "Looking at the Asian markets on a macro and micro level, we have
seen an increased use of offshore remedies as a means to achieving onshore
insolvency as well as markedly more activity within the private equity
industry."

The seminars were held in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Tokyo throughout
September and were adapted to the unique environment in each region. The Hong
Kong
event discussed hedge fund growth, private equity, the use of special
purpose vehicles (SPVs), the need for independent directors, corporate and
financial restructuring, and the greater China market. In China, the focus
was on private equity, recent trends in finance and corporate and financial
restructuring. The Tokyo session highlighted the re-emergence of domestic
managers in Japan and included discussions about the growth of offshore hedge
funds, the growing diversity of Japanese fund strategies, risk and governance
considerations, and a hedge fund regulatory update.

"We have seen significant changes in regulatory structure with the Asian
jurisdictions over the last nine months," said Wayne Bannon, General Counsel,
Asia of The Carlyle Group who participated in the Hong Kong event. "As new
regulations are accepted and integrated into the way we structure deals in
the region, we are not only seeing a renewed sense of clarity and
understanding among clients and business partners, but also a rejuvenated
interest in financing and investment."

The most recent seminar series is one of many ways Walkers is committed
to promoting a better understanding of complex financial matters to help
institutions meet their business goals and promote economic growth and
cooperation. Walkers' next event will be an event on November 9 at the
Harvard Club in New York City, "Changing the Game: The hottest topics in
hedge funds and what you really need to know ahead of 2011."
