- Windows Phone 7.5 Live Tile and Bing Search App Connect Updates Make It Easy to Find the Better Way to Go
With travel times on our nation’s roads up 10 percent as Americans head back to work and back to school, INRIX® introduced several new time-saving, stress-busting features for its INRIX Traffic app exclusive to Windows Phone users who download the new Windows Phone 7.5 release. New INRIX Traffic app features debuting with Windows Phone 7.5 include:
- Live Tiles: Windows Phone 7.5’s vast improvement to Live Tiles gives consumers the ability to bookmark pages from INRIX Traffic on their phone’s Start Screen for quick reference when they’re on the go. Drivers can save traffic map views around common destinations like home or work or bookmark a stretch of road along their route for one touch access to real-time traffic conditions on the most critical part of their commute.
- Local Search: Integration of INRIX Traffic with Bing Search. Users enter a place of interest in Bing search and with a few taps can immediately pull up a real-time traffic map from their INRIX Traffic application showing them traffic conditions around the desired location.
In addition to new features tied to the Windows Phone 7.5 release, INRIX also announced the app is available in all markets where Windows Phone is available and support for seven languages — English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Hungarian and Dutch.
“It’s like having your own personal traffic reporter available on demand anytime, anywhere from your Windows Phone,” said Kevin Foreman, INRIX Vice President of Mobile Applications. ”Nothing is more stressful than not knowing when you’ll arrive because you’re stuck in traffic. With our Windows Phone 7.5 release, we’re making it easier than ever for drivers to better plan their trips arriving on-time, stress free having known what to expect and places to avoid before they hit the road.”
INRIX Traffic is a free app that provides real-time traffic information and traffic forecasts covering more than 1.1 million miles of highways and city streets in cities across North America and Europe — twice the amount of roads compared to any other traffic app. Powered by the same company leading automakers like Ford, Audi and Mercedes rely on for their traffic information, INRIX Traffic is the only app that combines real-time, “crowd-sourced” traffic information from more than 30 million connected vehicles and devices with insight from hundreds of public and private sources to reliably deliver current and future traffic conditions.
