LONDON and DARMSTADT, Germany -
- CA to Phase Out BMC Software and Help LVM Establish an Integrated Management System for its Existing and New Technologies
- CA ESP Workload Automation to Deliver Higher Productivity, Cost Control, and Reduced Risk
CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) today announced that LVM Versicherungen, a nationwide insurance group that is among the top five auto insurers in Germany, will control its workflows using CA ESP Workload Automation. The world’s leading provider of IT management software is supporting the insurance company by introducing a business-oriented strategy for cross-platform workflow management.
In a highly competitive insurance market it is key for business-critical applications to remain highly reliable and cost efficient, which is why LVM Versicherungen has chosen CA ESP Workload Automation.
The solution, which will phase out BMC CONTROL-M, responds to business events in real time, allocates workload processes to respective service level agreements, distributes resources according to their infrastructure status, and proactively administers performance.
“In contrast to BMC, CA ESP Workload Automation provides a browser-based graphical interface, which allows us to quickly and easily depict network processes,” said Jürgen Falk, project manager at LVM Versicherungen. “In addition, our job and network documentation, which previously needed to be maintained manually, will now be automatically updated, and graphical representations can be created at any time. This allows our project staff to access the latest information at any time with the touch of a button. With up to 48,000 daily jobs on all platforms-z/OS, UNIX, Linux and Windows-this represents a significant workload reduction.”
CA ESP Workload Automation is a mainframe-hosted, event-driven solution for workload automation that offers the following advantages:
- Browser-based graphical interface - Increased operating efficiency - Greater productivity - Improved availability of important business services - Cost control and reduced risk
Falk continued: “CA ESP Workload Automation also features a test environment with a functional simulation. With job charts, job flows, and informative-including graphical-reports, errors that may occur when jobs and networks are being defined can quickly be recognized in advance within the test environment.”
“While complexity is increasing, it is even more important to safely manage our IT processes. When data and transactions are being processed, there is no room for error,” explained Werner Schmidt, executive manager at LVM Versicherungen. “CA will help us to establish an integrated management system for our existing and new technologies.”
