Natural, Organic, and Sustainable Beauty Headline HBA’s Green Conference

Leading natural and organic innovators and advocates will headline the Green Conference Track at HBA Global Expo, the largest product development event for the cosmetics, fragrance, personal care and well-being industries. The HBA trade show and conference will take place September 15-17, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
The best green business practices and strategies for success will be presented by experts from Aubrey Organics, Burt’s Bees, Estee Lauder, Firmenich, Intelligent Nutrients, Revolution Organics, Weleda and Yes to Carrots, to name a few. Topics include understanding the green consumer, sustainable packaging, technical trends, building successful natural brands and sustainability from A to Z.
“Consumer demand for natural products and buying from companies that are environmentally conscious is not waning, but there is still market confusion on what is truly organic and natural,” said Jill Birkett, Event Director, HBA Global Expo. “The HBA Green Conference will focus on marketing authentic messages and divulging proven strategies to help companies develop greener personal care products, become environmentally friendly, and drive company growth.”
The conference begins with a session on “Natural, Organic, Green: Understanding the Mystery for Consumers? ” that will discuss what appeals to consumer and their buying motivators. “Sustainable Packaging: Communication and Marketing Know-How” and “SUSTAINABILITY FROM A-Z: Prioritizing the Initiatives to Drive Profitability,” will help companies develop a cohesive and clear message for their product launches in this market segment with best practices from Aromafloria, Beautorium, Casestack, Design & Source Production, JOMO Thermomolding and Material ConneXion.
On Wednesday, the Green Track opens with “Creating a Successful Beauty Brand in the Naturals Market,” featuring a who’s who in the naturals and organics market discussing their initiatives for adhering to sustainability standards and maximizing their social responsiveness. Speaking on this panel will be Mike Indursky of Burt’s Bees, Jasper van Brakel of Weleda, Horst Rechelbacher of Intelligent Nutrients; and Alexandra Zanella of Revolution Organics.
Also on the agenda is “The Green Consumer: Go Green, Make Green,” with brands that have taken control of the market by understanding the green consumer base and effectively communicating a green message. Panelists include Karen Doskow, Kiline & Company; Linda Povey, Natural Marketing Institute; Ido Leffler, Yes to Carrots; and Casi Morris, Iconic Labs.
The final educational offering introduces technical strategies for driving toward greener personal care products with “Newest Trends: The Green, the Fragrant, and the Latest Sunscreen Regulations.” This session will cover color cosmetics, ethno-botany, skin care formulations, aqueous fragrances, and sunscreen regulations.
In addition to the Green Conference, HBA will also have educational tracks on Trends, Private Label and CoPack, X-Ceuticals,,and the HBA Marketing and Technical Conference. There will also be three workshops on Medical Sourcing; Anti-Aging & Stem Cells; and BioActives Influence on Skin Function & Appearance.
HBA Global Expo will open with a Keynote Address by Horst Rechelbacher, followed by a special presentation of the “Positively Beautiful” award by Lisa Price of Carol’s Daughter.
