Otis Selected for World Trade Center Transportation Hub

FARMINGTON, Connecticut, January 26, 2011 - Otis Elevator Company will provide 21 elevators and 47 escalators to the
World Trade Center Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) Transportation Hub in
lower Manhattan, New York. Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

to the hub's expected 250,000 pedestrians every day."
Otis elevators and escalators will help connect passengers to existing
and future transportation services, including World Trade Center office
towers, the Memorial and Museum, Hudson River ferry terminals, the World
Financial Center, PATH trains and 11 subway lines, as well as approximately
200,000 square feet of retail facilities. The hub is scheduled to open
mid-2014.
Otis will install heavy-duty escalators to ensure reliability while
minimizing environmental impact. These escalators include a high-efficiency
lubrication system that reduces oil consumption by up to 98 percent. In
addition, highly efficient LED skirt lighting will help enhance passenger
safety while minimizing energy consumption.
Otis products have been selected for mass-transit locations around the
world, including Los Angeles International Airport in the U.S., Incheon
International Airport in South Korea, Schkeuditz Airport in Germany, and
metro systems in China, Germany, Singapore and Taiwan. The company also
services elevators and escalators at high-performing buildings worldwide,
such as the Shanghai World Financial Center.
