ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -

- Regional and International Defence Experts Meet to Discuss Design Optimization Strategies to Ensure Armoured Vehicles are Equipped to Withstand any Potential Attack

International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC), the global provider of tailored, industry-driven conferences, will be assessing the latest technologies and management strategies to effectively balance armoured vehicle capabilities. Armoured Vehicles Middle East 2009 is an exclusive two-day conference with an added day of workshops, taking place in Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Global industry experts will gather in Abu Dhabi on 22 - 24 November 2009 to share the latest practical solutions to guarantee long-term core capabilities of armoured platforms, whilst allowing for adaptability to various operational requirements. The successful application of survivability technologies will be discussed to reveal technical and operational initiatives for maximizing protection against contemporary threat, including Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

Armoured Vehicles Middle East, the 2nd conference in this successful annual series, hosting contributions from over 14 military and industry experts, provides an excellent opportunity to find solutions to the very latest armoured vehicle design challenges and build industry partnerships that will result in mutual business growth.

Lieutenant General Sir John Kiszely, Former Commander of Regional Forces at Land Command (UK), states that “having the right armoured vehicles in the right numbers remains key to successful military operations today, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Anticipating the requirement is equally key. But changes in the character of conflict, in the pace of technological development and in the `art of the possible’ make such anticipation all the harder. Knowledge-sharing between experts, policy-makers, customers and suppliers at conferences such as this becomes essential if they are to keep ahead of adversaries and competitors.”

Armoured Vehicles Middle East 2009 will act as a forum for some of the most topical issues facing the industry right now, by providing practical case studies from International Armed Forces, Ministries of Defence, International Defence Agencies and Defence Solution experts, including Colonel Joland Dubbeldam, Commandant, Joint Task Force Counter IED, Netherlands Ministry of Defence, discussing effective strategies to identify and counter IED networks to ensure crew and vehicle survivability. In addition, Colonel Paul Lepine, Programme Manager, Heavy Brigade Combat Team, US Army, reviewing the US Army’s 31 Heavy Brigade Combat Teams and assessing heavy brigade foreign military sales programmes to evaluate peace-time vs. wartime acquisition.

This interactive summit will be held from the 22 - 24 November 2009 at Le Royal Meridien, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Further information may be obtained at www.armouredvehiclesme.com
