EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, May 18, 2011 - The Solar Weekend 2011 line-up has been revealed. With a diverse music
and art program Extrema's creative crossover festival will celebrate its
seventh edition on August 5, 6 and 7. Solar Weekend's line-up consists of
dance, hip-hop, from underground to pop, but also other genres and art forms.

Together with the beach campsite Solar Weekend creates the ultimate
holiday for the festival visitor at the beautiful banks of recreational lake
Maasplassen in Roermond in the south of the Netherlands. At Solar Weekend,
over 300 artists and more than 800 creative minds from Extrema's
international artists collective, divided among over 10 areas and just as
many creative villages build the festival terrain together.

Becoming Conscious

Extrema cooperates with visitors and creatives to consciously work on a
better future. Some of the means to achieve this are a 100% green stage,
powered by the energy generated by the visitors themselves, elaborate public
transport and fair trade, biological food.

Broad line-up

This year Solar came up with a broad music program yet again.
The complete line-up has already been published at the event's website
www.solarweekend.com. Amongst others, the Dutch hip-hop formation De
Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, the electrorockers of The Subs, Bonaparte, Goose and
the Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 play at the main stage, the 'Mixed Main'.
Add the afrobeat of Jungle by Night, the beat box and live loop master
Beardyman and the Zwart Licht XL hip-hopband to that and the Mixed Main has
its beautiful array of artists.

The Techy Tent is characterized by the legendary nightclub Berghain in
Berlin. On Saturday, Len Faki is responsible for the program. He will bring,
among others, the techno hero Francois K and Holland's pride Benny Rodrigues
along with him. Dj/producer Chris Liebing is the programmer on Sunday, with
Cassy, Luke Slater and Marcel Dettmann.

Joost van Bellen has his Rauw Lab again with a tough line-up featuring
The Magician (ex-Aeroplane), Tommie Sunshine, Mixhell of Sepultura-drummer
Iggor Cavalera, Hey Today!, Villa and Nobody Beats the Drum. Hip-hop
collective Missin' Link hosts the Saturday. The Sunday is dedicated to the
Amsterdam multi-talents of Habbekrats. Two days of the hottest Holland's
booming hip-hop scene has to offer at the moment.

This year the Ouwehoeah Area has moved to a machine shed where Amsterdam
collectives reign. Dekmantel this year invites the Chicago house producer
Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers), as well as underground heavy weights I-F, Floating
Points and Legowelt. Sunday revolves around the number 1 dubsteb collective
of the Netherlands: Oi! with Funtcase, N-Type, Kutz and hosts Brutuzz and
Gomes.

Also this year: Schlager Area with several live-acts, dj's and of course
German pints of beer. The Food Village is a cosy place that will provide you
with biological food and other culinary miracles while enjoying live music by
Beukorkest and you can even join live jam sessions.
