BIARRITZ, France - JBL and Roxy, a brand of Quiksilver Inc., today unveil a line of co-created portable audio products targeted at the youth market. Tailored specifically for the surf and mountain casual lifestyle, the series of multimedia products will start with the introduction of a headphone line to be launched at Roxy Jam, the surf, music and art festival in Biarritz that started on Friday July 10. The headphones featuring ear-buds (Reference 230), on-ear DJ style headphones (Reference 430) and an in-ear model with microphone for use with mobile phones (Reference 250), are slated to hit stores across Europe this month, introducing the idea of “Style, meet Sound”.
The Reference 230 ear buds utilize a closed-back design that enables listeners to block outside noise while listening to their music.
The Reference 250 in-ear headphones’ semi-open-back design features an inline book-style microphone for answering phone calls with just one push of a button.
Reference 430 over-the-ear headphones help minimize ambient noise, and isolate sound so that music fans can enjoy their tunes the way they’re intended to be heard. Clear highs and distortion-free lows come standard with these special-edition headphones.
All headphones come with an exclusive matching carrying purse so fashionable girls can be stylish everywhere they go.
The products will fuse Roxy’s fashion-forward designs with JBL’s reputation as a sound pioneer to create a collection that is lightweight, compact and easy to carry. Bright pops of green, blue, pink and orange hues harness the fun elements of music, while the superior technology speaks to the importance of high-quality sounding tunes. The collection will be sold online at www.roxy.com and through chains across Europe. All designs are lightweight and easy to carry, perfect for the jet-setting, music-loving fashionista. The collection features affordable price points that allow girls to express themselves in style while enjoying the best sound technology.
“Music is such a huge part of any girl’s life. It’s what drives you in competition; it’s what brings back memories of a certain place or a certain event. Listening to your music with great sound technology makes all the difference,” says Maritxu Darrigrand, Marketing Director of Roxy Europe. “Together with JBL we are creating a market for branded multimedia accessories, and from the beginning we needed to have the best audio equipment underlying our designs to bring that vision to light.”
“With this partnership, JBL is expanding the reach of the brand by delivering superior lifestyle products to a new audience of young women whose lives are a confluence of fashion, music and adventure,” states Susan Paley, director of business development for JBL. “Designed by women, for women, the first run of the JBL/Roxy co-branded products are just the beginning. Both companies are committed to providing young women products that inspire them, allowing them to express themselves through the personal and shared experience of music.”
