BERLIN, August 2, 2011 -

- €3.50 Euros per Night Will Cover Damages of up to2,500

9flats.com, Europe’s largest platform for private accommodation rentals, has become the first provider to offer their hosts worldwide protection for their properties. From this Thursday, German hosts can cover their properties against damages of up to €2,500, at a cost of €3.50 per night, per property. This fee covers all guests staying in the property, with the excess to be paid in the event of any damages set at €100. The coverage programme will be rolled out to international hosts in all 9flats.com countries beyond Germany over the course of the next several weeks.

With this move, 9flats.com is greatly increasing security for its members. Security standards at 9flats.com are already very high with hosts and guests evaluating each other online and a team of specially trained scouts continually visiting and personally approving hosts and their properties. It is likely that claims will be rare - in the six months since 9flats.com was founded, there have been no claims over €100 - claims which, until now, 9flats.com has paid out as a gesture of goodwill.

Stephan Uhrenbacher, founder and CEO of 9flats.com, is proud to offer the coverage programme. “We go to great lengths to ensure that both our hosts and guests have the best experience possible when travelling with 9flats.com. Anyone who rents out their own home with our service now has further peace of mind that their property is protected,” he said.

In addition to the above, 9flats.com insists on full transparency of costs. Guests who stay at a 9flats.com property, who also benefit from this new protection, will not bear any additional costs. With 9flats.com, there are no hidden fees when guests book accommodation as the 15% service fee is taken directly from the host’s income.
