PARIS, June 9, 2010 - Alcan Specialty Sheet, part of Alcan Engineered Products - a
business unit of Rio Tinto - launches its new Solar Surface(R) Selfclean at
the coming edition of the INTERSOLAR trade show in Munich, Germany, from 9th
to 11th June 2010. This leading-edge technology fully enriches its
market-proven Solar Surface(R) range of solutions.

The new Solar Surface(R) Selfclean solution will be proposing
two technologies:

    - Solar Surface(R) Selfclean PC : photocatalytic and hydrophilic
      reflector surface

    - Solar Surface(R) Selfclean eZ : superhydrophobic reflector surface

Covering a large spectrum of applications required by the
solar industry markets (including substrates for absorbers & Solar Surface(R)
reflectors materials), Alcan Specialty Sheet moves one step further in
confirming its leading position as aluminium solutions provider.

"This innovation further strengthens our leadership as
provider of intelligent aluminium-based solutions to the solar industry. Our
close and longstanding relationship with our customers combined with our
recognized outstanding expertise in R&D, enabled Alcan Specialty Sheet to
develop a unique Solar Surface(R) solution for the increasingly complex solar
market needs" said Thierry Mootz, Director Sales and Marketing Automotive and
Customized Solutions.

Recognized a strategic technological breakthrough, the Solar
Surface(R) Selfclean offer has been chosen to be highlighted during the
prestigious Intersolar Innovation Exchange (in Hall C3).

Aluminium is a critical material to address the solar
industry's challenges. The high reflectivity and formability of aluminium
mirrors with nano-particle sol-gel protection is today an industry standard
for a number of solar collector technologies.

"Alcan Specialty Sheet's new Solar Surface(R) Selfclean
coatings, incorporating active nano-particles and silane compounds, provides
additional performance and functionality by chemically breaking down dirt and
contaminants in contact with the surface, thus ensuring that the solar
mirrors remain clean and efficient, always", emphasized Philippe Lequeu,
Director Technology & Innovation.

Note to editors: Alcan Specialty Sheet's exhibition will be
open to visitors and the press in Hall C1, Booth 370 from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00
p.m.
on June 9/10 and from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on June 11.
