Dr. Benny Tritsch, Leading Virtualization Guru, Joins User Virtualization Leader AppSense
By Appsense, PRNESunday, January 16, 2011
LONDON, January 17, 2011 - AppSense, the leading provider of user virtualization technology
(www.appsense.com/uservirtualization/), has recruited virtualisation
guru, Dr Benny Tritsch (www.drtritsch.com/), as technology director in
Germany, Austria & Switzerland. Tritsch will also be an important contributor
to the AppSense Office of the CTO, based in San Jose, and also instrumental
in educating the market on the essential nature of user virtualization. As a
key member of the global virtualization community, Tritsch will continue to
align Appsense solutions closely with customer and market requirements.
In tandem with his AppSense role, Tritsch will also continue his
independent community work (www.drtritsch.com), running training
sessions and speaking at regular industry events on desktop, application
delivery and user virtualization technologies.
Commenting on his appointment, Tritsch said: "I'd describe myself as a
virtualisation evangelist, and see user virtualization as the big growth
story. Consumerisation of services and devices, componentized desktops, user
driven service delivery models, including cloud and outsourcing, and massive
desktop migration are driving the need for user virtualisation. The desktop
of the future will look very different from today, comprising standardized
components, user installed applications and user data, made available across
all platforms, delivery mechanisms and devices. That is the AppSense vision,
and I'm genuinely excited about the company's potential as they continue to
drive this expanding user virtualization market."
AppSense continues to deliver year on year success, and once again proved
market leadership by delivering record growth in 2010; announcing 1.5million
license sales in the calendar year, a 60 per cent increase in revenues and 43
per cent increase in headcount. This expansion has also seen investment into
new EMEA locations, with the opening of new offices in Paris and Oslo, as
part of AppSense's global expansion. The company also developed existing and
new partnerships with Citrix, McAfee, Microsoft and VMware, and worked with a
number of system integrators such as DELL, HP, IBM, CSC on numerous
enterprise deployments, including one of Europe's largest desktop
virtualisation projects in partnership with Fujitsu.
Tony Clarke, VP EMEA at AppSense, added: "Benny is uniquely attuned to
the needs of our customers and prospects, and will provide invaluable
feedback for our development team to ensure we create the best possible
solutions to customer problems. Benny is a well-known and respected
commentator and evangelist on the virtualization space and his appointment is
a key part of our aggressive growth strategy in the EMEA region."
Dr Tritsch is based near Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Germany and holds a
PhD* in Computer Science (Dr.-Ing.) from the Technical University in
Darmstadt (Germany), a MSc* in Physics (Dipl.-Phys.) from the University in
Freiburg (Germany) after completing his thesis at the European Organization
for Nuclear Research CERN (public.web.cern.ch/public/) in Geneva,
Switzerland and a BSc* in Physics from the University in Freiburg (Germany).
