Frost & Sullivan Lauds RF Co., Ltd. for Its Groundbreaking Digital Radiography Products
By Frost Sullivan, PRNEMonday, July 26, 2010
LONDON, July 27, 2010 - Based on its recent research on the digital radiography market, Frost &
Sullivan presents RF Co., Ltd. with the "2010 European Medical Technologies
Product Leadership of the Year Award," for NAOMI, a digital x-ray sensor that
does not require any film development to acquire x-ray film images.

Leveraging its vast experience in working with various kinds of charged
coupled device (CCD) cameras, RF Co., Ltd. developed NAOMI with components
consisting of 192-CCD-array (16 units combined with the 12-CCD-camera
built-in module). The impact of this technology on radiology is similar to
the introduction of digital cameras in the videography market.
Digital x-ray image with high resolution and flexible adjustment helps
prevent misdiagnosis and doctors do not need to feel reluctant to re-take
digital x-ray image due to its low x-ray irradiance level. NAOMI uses
sophisticated technology to emerge patient- and environment-friendly medical
equipment that is priced as lows as 30 per cent of that of its
contemporaries, has ultra-sensitive high-resolution of 48.37 mega pixels
(eight times more than its competing products) and low-level x-ray irradiance
which is about 1/16 to 1/20 of conventional x-ray irradiance levels.
"NAOMI is a direct digital radiography system, which directly sends
images to a PC monitor after irradiation, while others need imaging plates
(IP) to display images," says Frost & Sullivan Senior Research Analyst
Sreevidhya Praveen. "It also has inherently low repair and maintenance costs,
which further enhances customer interest."
The unquestionable technical dominance of NAOMI had earned it an ISO13485
certification in May 2010 and a CE Marking Approval for its sales in Europe.
Significantly, even hospitals in developed or developing countries can
afford this low-priced digital x-ray system, which allows them to provide
better medical care and consulting services for the local people. This
product improves the quality of diagnosis, contributes to environmental
protection and lowers cost as well as manpower burdens on hospitals.
"The company believes that medical equipment should be physically
friendly to patients, lessening the burden on doctors and medical staff and
be affordable to even small clinics in depopulated areas," notes Praveen.
Frost & Sullivan believes this vision will popularize NAOMI all over the
world and it will be the 'de facto standard' in the field of digital direct
radiography.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that has
developed high-quality products that offer innovative
features/functionalities that enhance customer value and find immediate
acceptance in the market.
