Departments of transport, police, and emergency responders can gain
immediate access to a site designed to help them manage traffic operations,
emergency response coordination and public safety with greater precision.
Registration is available at www.inrix.com/inrixtrafficeu.asp.
"Across Europe, INRIXTraffic.eu empowers departments of transport and
their partners with a network-wide view of Europe's Motorways that's key to
efficient operations, particularly in times of crisis or during heavy travel
periods," said INRIX Vice President of Public Sector Rick Schuman. "We're
providing an invaluable tool critical to their efforts to improve mobility
and public safety across the European road network."
The site is open exclusively to all public employees and their onsite
contractors who own, monitor, manage, patrol or plan motorways in Europe.
Initial INRIXtraffic.eu coverage spans more than 160,000 km (100,000 miles)
across:
- U.K. - France - Germany - Belgium - Netherlands - Hungary - Austria - Switzerland - Luxembourg
The real-time traffic information fueling INRIXTraffic.eu is powered by a
community of millions of GPS enabled vehicles. Providing a foundation of
continuous real-time speed and location reports to INRIX every minute for an
average of 7 hours per day, per vehicle, commercial fleets - such as taxis,
service delivery vans and long haul trucks - represent the majority of
INRIX's network. INRIX intelligently analyzes these reports and data from
consumer vehicles, GPS-enabled smartphones, road sensors and hundreds of
other sources to deliver a service of unparalleled coverage and quality.
INRIXTraffic.eu builds upon the successful introduction of
INRIXTraffic.us last year. Today, more than 600 departments of transportation
operations personnel in 45 of 50 states across the U.S. are using the site to
power their daily operations, traveler information services and performance
measures.
