CHICAGO - Safety issues at nuclear plants have resulted in increased usage of LINK Tools, now topping 75% of all nuclear plants. This includes nuclear generating stations and plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Safety at nuclear facilities is of prime importance to staff, owners and the public alike. LINK’s unique locking system which guarantees no dropped sockets, has proven to be a critical factor in high risk maintenance situations. “The use of LINK Tools is now mandated at many sites,” according to John Davidson, President and CEO of LINK.
LINK’s track record working with critical operations is unique and includes work on high priority assignments such as the NASA space shuttle bay and the retrofitting of atomic missiles on submarines at the U.S. Navy’s Undersea Warfare Center. LINK is also the first hand tool to receive a coveted Q-Mark by TUV, one of the world’s most highly regarded testing bureaus.
“In addition to enhanced safety, there are also highly significant efficiency reasons to use LINK tools,” Davidson added. LINK Tools have now been tested in extended aviation training by the U.S. military and found to save from 25-50% in the time required on all tasks. LINK Tools work with and lock on all sockets and attachments having standard detents.
