Joint Programs to Help Advance Emerging Wireless Health Industry
SAN DIEGO, May 12, 2010 - West Wireless Health Institute (WWHI) today announced a collaboration
with GE Healthcare, a global leader in health care technology, on a variety
of research, technology and educational initiatives focused on accelerating
wireless health solutions. GE Healthcare has demonstrated innovative
leadership in the emerging wireless health industry. WWHI is forging
technology and educational partnerships with like-minded stakeholders around
the world to drive innovation and advance the emerging field of wireless
health, with the goal of improving health care outcomes while reducing costs.
WWHI, founded in March 2009 with a US$45 million gift from the Gary and
Mary West Foundation, is the first nonprofit medical research organization
dedicated to cutting the cost of health care by innovating, validating,
advocating for and investing in the use of wireless technologies to transform
medicine. The Institute's Technology and Educational partnerships are based
on the mutual exchange of ideas, technical assistance and expertise, and do
not include any exchange of funds.
