The Artemis Project Top 50 Unveils 2011's Most Innovative Water Technologies
CAESAREA, Israel, May 17, 2011 - Emefcy today announced that it has been chosen by The Artemis Project(TM)
as a Top 50 Water Companies Competition winner.
"The Artemis Top 50 is the water industry's benchmark for recognizing
innovation. It identifies the entrepreneurs that are applying technology to
meet the world's water challenges," noted Laura Shenkar, principal at The
Artemis Project. "We are glad to have Emefcy as one of the leading innovative
companies offering the most promising technologies coming onto the market".
"We are excited to be chosen as a market and technology leader addressing
the water and energy challenges the world is facing" said Mr. Eytan Levy, CEO
and co-founder of Emefcy. Mr. Levy added "Emefcy is first to invent a cost
effective, scalable and sustainable Electrogenic Bioreactor (EBR) while
focusing on commercializing scientific research and providing a product that
is both sustainable and cost effective".
The EBR treats wastewater and produces green electricity as a byproduct.
The EBR functions as a battery which uses wastewater as fuel. It is ideal for
treating industrial wastewater with high concentration of organic substance.
About Emefcy
Emefcy was founded in Israel in 2008 with the vision of fundamentally
changing the economics of wastewater treatment by generating instead of
consuming energy, utilizing electrogenic bacteria to produce electricity from
wastewater while treating the water. Emefcy turns the wastewater treatment
facility from a cost center to a profit center while reducing its carbon foot
print. For more information visit: www.emefcy.com
