Epyon Opens New Offices in the UK, the Netherlands and Japan
AMSTERDAM, June 22, 2010 - Epyon (www.epyonpower.com/Home/Epyon_Power.aspx), a
European leader in the development and marketing of smart charging solutions
for the emerging electric vehicle (EV) market, today announced the opening of
a new office in the UK as part of its ongoing global growth strategy. The new
UK office is in addition to two new offices just opened in the Netherlands
and Japan.
To most effectively meet the rapidly growing market demand for
EV charging solutions Epyon's UK office will provide customer support and a
base for business development into the UK & Ireland. In addition to its
existing offices in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, Epyon has also opened an
office in Eindhoven located at the prestigious High Tech Campus
(www.hightechcampus.nl/). The location gives Epyon unparalleled access
to software skills and resources. Additionally the office is close to the
Automotive Technology Centre (www.atcentre.nl/) in Helmond which is at
the forefront of Dutch innovation in the automobile industry.
Completing Epyon's current expansion round, an office has been
opened in Japan. This office is strategically located to take advantage of
the Japanese EV market, always at the forefront of trends and new
developments. The location also ensures Epyon is physically represented at
the CHAdeMO (www.chademo.com/indexa.html), an association for the
standardization of quick-charging protocols, headquartered in Japan.
"We are excited to announce the opening of the three
offices," says Hans Streng, CEO of Epyon. "The expansion of Eypon's footprint
signifies the rapid growth in the EV market and is also a testament to our
commercially available, and operational, solution. We have aggressive growth
plans to meet the market demands for EV and this development is a further
step in our ambitious strategy".
Epyon currently employs 40 highly skilled people and
anticipates a significant increase of staff by the end of 2010. New hires
will be made in the areas of customer support, business development and R&D.
The company has planned further regional expansion in Europe for the
remainder of 2010. In May 2010 Epyon announced the opening of the first
commercial fast charging station in Europe.
