WATFORD, England, February 15 - The Motorola Milestone (www.mobiles.co.uk/motorola-milestone.html)
is Motorola's second mobile phone to run on Android, and their first to run
Android 2.0, known as Eclair. This updated version of Android has an
extended catalogue of downloadable apps from the Android market and access to
a range of Google services such as Gmail and Google Maps. The camera
improvements on the Android 2.0 handsets have also helped to enhance
photographic quality.
The touchscreen on the Motorola Milestone comes in at 3.7 inches, which
leads to a very clear display; in addition, the built-in accelerometer
automatically rotates the screen. The Milestone also boasts a full slide-out
QWERTY keyboard, which makes it more enjoyable and effortless to compose
messages and browse the web.
The Milestone, also referred to as the Droid in the US, can be used to
plan your journey and locate your current position with the built-in GPS
function (The range of other GPS phones can be found on
www.mobiles.co.uk/gps-mobile-phones.html). This is also the first
handset to come pre-installed with voice guided Google Maps.
Included with this service are a search engine to find addresses, Google
Street View and live traffic data.
HSDPA, also known as Mobile Broadband, offers higher speeds,
meaning applications can be opened in an instance, and pages load in no
time.
The handset allows you to easily connect to a local wireless network in
order to access the internet. This is an effortless way to view your
favourite websites, check your latest emails and download files.
Users can view web pages exactly as they would appear on a PC directly
from the handset. Thanks to this feature, wherever you are, you can keep
up-to-date with weather reports or locate the nearest cinema.
The quality of the camera on the Milestone is also very impressive. With
5 megapixels, autofocus and a duel-LED flash, results are always outstanding.
There are many options once you have taken your photos: share them on sites
such as Flikr, upload them onto blogs or email them to share with your
friends.
Email Client allows users to access their personal emails directly from
the handset and send messages, photos etc to any account anywhere in the
world.
The Milestone is a close rival to established handsets including the HTC
HD2 (www.mobiles.co.uk/htc-touch-hd2.html) with its 4.2 inch
touchscreen and Android Mobile phones (
