"SOLARHAUS 50+" Special Exhibition: Solar Heating Takes Center Stage at Intersolar Europe
By Intersolar 2010, PRNEMonday, May 10, 2010
MUNICH, May 11, 2010 - Intersolar Europe, the world's largest exhibition for the solar industry,
will introduce new technological solutions for solar heating to an audience
of trade specialists and interested visitors from June 9 - 11 at the New
Munich Trade Fair Centre. Within the "SOLARHAUS 50+" special exhibition,
Intersolar Europe will present a concept through which a building can cover
at least half of its heating needs using solar heat.
Solar thermal energy is generated through the conversion of solar energy
into useful heat energy. However, the potential of solar thermal technology,
particularly in supplying heat for buildings and homes, has not yet been
fully realized. According to forecasts from the German Solar Thermal
Technology Platform (DSTTP), in no more than 20 years solar thermal
technology will be the main generator of heat in domestic heating systems and
no longer just a minor addition. Furthermore, it will not only provide
heating, but also cooling and air conditioning, or energy for industrial
processes. Industry, politics and science have come together within the
technology platform in pursuit of a shared vision - to make heating systems
driven entirely by the sun's energy standard in new housing by 2030. At the
same time, solar renovation in old buildings should also become a part of
daily business within the skilled trades.
SOLARHAUS 50+ special exhibition at Intersolar Europe
The "SOLARHAUS 50+" special exhibition at Intersolar Europe, the world's
largest exhibition for solar technology, demonstrates how the sun's energy
can be used in heating homes today. Interested visitors will find the special
exhibition in Hall C2, booth C2.310. It presents options for solar renovation
and explains which steps are necessary for obtaining the highest levels of
solar energy coverage in buildings. The special exhibition centers on the
SOLARHAUS 50+ concept, through which a house can cover at least half of its
heating needs using solar heat. This can be realized most easily in new
buildings, though even existing buildings can gain the title SOLARHAUS 50+.
Expert partners of the special exhibition are the Fraunhofer Institute for
Solar Energy Systems, the Stuttgart University Institute for Thermodynamics
and Thermal Engineering and the Sonnenhaus Institute.
Presentation series on solar housing
The "SOLARHAUS 50+" special exhibition will be complemented by a special
presentation series on solar houses and possibilities for solar renovation.
Experts will present current technological developments at the special
exhibition area in Hall C2, booth C2.310. Here, visitors will not only have
the chance to gain information about the field at first hand, but will also
be able to discuss the latest technologies and political conditions with
experts.
Intersolar Europe will take place from June 9 - 11 at the New Munich
Trade Fair Centre.

(EPIA).
About Intersolar
With over 2,600 exhibitors and 80,000+ visitors on three continents,
Intersolar is the world's leading exhibition for the entire solar industry.
Intersolar Europe takes place annually at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
It is the world's largest exhibition for the solar industry and looks back on
a history spanning almost 20 years. More than 1,800 international exhibitors
and 60,000+ industry visitors are expected to attend Intersolar Europe in
2010. Intersolar Europe focuses on the fields of photovoltaics and solar
thermal technology, and since it was first held has established itself as the
industry's most important platform for manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers
and service providers alike.
In addition to Intersolar Europe, Intersolar North America was launched
in San Francisco in 2008. This was followed in 2009 by Intersolar India,
which will take place in Mumbai as of 2010. From 2011, the Intersolar
portfolio will be expanded by Intersolar China in Shanghai. The organizers of
Intersolar Europe are Solar Promotion GmbH, Pforzheim and Freiburg Wirtschaft
Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG. The exhibitions in North America, India
and China are organized by the international subsidiaries Solar Promotion
International GmbH and Freiburg Management und Marketing International GmbH
(FMMI).
