- Web-Based Solution Automates Asset Health Monitoring and Reporting

Ventyx®, an ABB company, today announced that Belgian leading energy company Electrabel has licensed Ventyx asset health management software to facilitate enhanced equipment reliability at the company’s nuclear power plants in Belgium.

Electrabel, a GDFSuez company, is implementing the Ventyx SystemIQ software in its three units at the Tihange plant in Wallonia. The software has also been licensed for potential future implementation at four units at Electrabel’s Doel site in Flanders.

Electrabel’s nuclear power stations are among the most reliable in the world. In order to maintain this strong record, the company is implementing advanced technology to help automate, manage and track their safety and maintenance processes. The Web-based SystemIQ software will facilitate system performance monitoring and health reporting at the sites. Designed to automate data collection, the software integrates with supporting applications such as work management, corrective action, condition monitoring and diagnostics, inventory management. Electrabel is implementing the software to help improve the Tihange plant’s load factor, equipment reliability and compliance with regulations such as the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) AP-913 rule.

A key benefit for the customer is that Ventyx software is available in a range of languages. In addition to French, the operating language of the Tihange plant, Ventyx has delivered successful software implementations in local languages to nuclear operators around the world — including North America, Japan, China, UK, Romania and the Czech Republic.

“We are extremely proud to add Electrabel to the growing list of nuclear operators across the globe that depend on Ventyx software for the reliable and safe operation of their plants,” said Ventyx Sales Executive Peter van den Berg. “Nine of the top 10 European power generators rely on Ventyx solutions to improve their work and asset performance.”

SystemIQ is part of the Ventyx Equipment Reliability Suite for Asset Health Management. These Web-based tools define asset health management responsibilities, automate proactive monitoring of assets and equipment reliability work processes and document and track action plans to improve and maintain asset health. They provide a common portal for asset health information and interfaces to work management, and other enterprise tools, that together help align organizations to focus resources on common asset health management priorities.
