Ballast Nedam to Build Part of Hogeschool van Amsterdam’s Amstel Campus

NIEUWEGEIN, Netherlands, July 15, 2011 -

Ballast Nedam has reached an agreement for the construction of
the new Hogeschool van Amsterdam (University of Applied Sciences)
building, its sports and catering facilities and student housing at
sites on Wibautstraat and Boerhaavestraat. This construction is
part of the new Amstel Campus at that location.

The new Wibaut Building will contain teaching facilities,
offices and an underground car park. A new residential building
with 60 student units will be constructed behind the Wibaut
Building. The new Boerhaave Building will feature teaching
facilities, a sport centre with catering facilities and student
housing. The total project will have over 67,700 m2 of floor space.
The Boerhaave Building and Wibaut Building are scheduled to be
completed at the end of 2014.

The new development has a net contract value of over € 93
million, including the technical equipment. Burgers Ergon will be
responsible for the technical installations.

Ballast Nedam integrates all working processes in the entire
chain, thereby ensuring the highest level of coordination for our

Earthmoving, Hoco Beton (concrete) and Omnia Plaatvloer (flooring)
are responsible for a significant part of the structural work.

The new Boerhaave Building and the Wibaut Building are part of
the development of the Amstel Campus. This new urban campus of the
Hogeschool van Amsterdam offers a unique combination of studying,
living, working and recreation. In the past, Ballast Nedam was
entrusted with the renovation of the campus’s Kohnstamm Building
and is currently constructing the parking facility at
Kohnstammhof.
