ROCHESTER, New York, May 26, 2011 -

- Tier 1 Carrier Leverages Scalable IP-Based System as Bridge to LTE

PT (NASDAQ: PTIX), the leading global supplier of advanced network
communications solutions formerly known as Performance Technologies, today
announced it has been awarded a multimillion dollar order to provide the
signalling core solution for Globacom, one of Africa's fastest growing mobile
telecommunications companies. The transaction also includes Mobile Number
Portability (MNP) and Short Message Service Defense (SMS-D) feature
functionalities. PT's next generation SEGway Signalling System is already
deployed in the carrier's network in Ghana and Benin Republic, and is central
to the design for network expansion in Nigeria, where Globacom serves over 25
million subscribers. SEGway's unique scalability of ports and throughput
capacity makes it well suited to expand with the high growth Nigerian
network; conversely, it performs equally well as an efficient core network
platform for deployment into smaller Globacom markets in the future.

PT is providing the SEGway Signalling platform as the basis for both
geographic and network expansion while enabling Globacom's transition to an
all-SIGTRAN network. PT's Signalling Solution is built on an IP-native fabric
providing the capability to support future network interfaces, and the power
to host multiple core network features such as Mobile Number Portability,
SMS-Defense and upcoming LTE applications. The SEGway platform's inherent
efficiencies result in significant savings in operations and maintenance
costs and it ensures a smooth network growth path.

"PT has demonstrated an unprecedented level of commitment as a vendor in
this region," said Mike Jituboh, Senior Executive at Globacom. "Their
expertise in all aspects of Next-Gen IP-based signalling, and their proven
ability to deliver and support it, has made PT our preferred signalling
vendor as we continue to expand our network coverage across Africa."

Globacom's Group COO, Mohamed Jameel, remarked, "The availability of such
a sophisticated core signalling platform gives Globacom the latitude to
configure a best-of-breed network topology within an attractive economic
model, and to accurately address each of our divergent coverage areas. PT's
rich suite of features on SEGway allows Globacom to efficiently manage our
growing network while rolling out new applications as the need arises.
Globacom is now well positioned to employ features such as Advanced Core
Network Routing, SMS Defense, Mobile Number Portability and, in the future,
core network LTE capabilities. We are confident in PT's demonstrated
reliability; with SEGway in our network, we are able to consolidate
operations, yet continue to develop a rich feature-set."

"Through their use of our SEGway Solutions Platform, PT empowers carriers
to aggressively market their services, becoming nimble and competitive in
this rapidly shifting industry," said Patt Rice, Senior VP, Marketing, Sales
and Service of PT. "The nations of Africa are experiencing unprecedented
growth in telecommunications services, with data applications driving most of
the usage. PT is a perfect fit for the region and its carriers, and we will
continue to deliver robust systems and a clear-cut road map to guide their
strategic growth by simplifying the addition of capacity, features, and
applications."
