Icera Continues to Grow Mobile Broadband Revenues in Q3 2009

- Fifth Successive Quarter of Growth for Private Semiconductor Company

Icera Inc., the Mobile Broadband semiconductor company, today announced it has generated a fifth successive quarter of strong revenue growth during the third quarter of 2009. Icera’s chipsets are used in high performance, high speed Mobile Broadband devices such as USB modem sticks and embedded MiniCard modules for notebook and netbook computers.

Stan Boland, President & CEO of Icera Inc., said: ‘Mobile Network Operators are specifying our chipsets for Mobile Broadband devices because we are breaking the rules - aggressively pushing up user data rates whilst simultaneously pushing down costs. This is made possible by our advanced soft modem technology which is delivering increased performance on smaller silicon and therefore more cost effective. Several customers launched Icera-powered devices at 10.2Mbps during the quarter and we expect the first 14Mbps European launches in Q4, which we see as a critical node for 2010. Beyond this, we will sample our first 21Mbps HSPA+ modem software in the next few weeks, also supporting Release 7 features, which further improve network efficiency and user experience, with deployment expected in the first half of 2010.’

Icera’s technology is now shipping on at least ten major networks across Europe, US, Latin America and Asia. During the next two quarters, not only does Icera expect to generate further demand for existing products, but the availability of Icera-based products is set to treble, most of which have already been pre-selected by European or US mobile network operators.
