ATLANTA - Xiocom Wireless announced today that aCure Technology, a value-added reseller and systems integration partner, has deployed a campus-wide indoor and outdoor wireless mesh network solution at Mercedes College in Perth, WA. Students will now be able to work wherever they are on campus, wirelessly accessing all of the college’s resources online.

According to Glenn Farrow, Director of aCure Technology, “the selection criteria that Mercedes College required included campus-wide coverage, combined with an open architecture that was both upgradeable and scalable. We combined a flexible mesh architecture and a very cost-effective model to achieve their desired end result.”

Mercedes College is using Xiocom’s recently acquired RoamAD wireless networking platform for its campus Wi-Fi network. The converged wireless network solution is scalable, secure and optimized to best leverage the applications and services provided on the college’s network and will enable the Information Technology department to manage resources more efficiently, giving staff more time to support a growing student body, and expanding campus. Xiocom’s single-vendor solution addresses interoperability issues and enables Mercedes College to grow and adapt the network as student needs evolve.

“Xiocom has the proven experience and the right technology, delivering a reliable, secure solution that gives us the most cost-effective coverage,” said Neil Sheridan, IT Manager at Mercedes College, “the quality of the signal and the in-building penetration has exceeded our expectations.”

“Mercedes College’s wireless network deployment was purpose-built and is a true testament to the evolution of wireless networking technologies,” said Steve Erdman, Xiocom’s President. The college’s new wireless network meets its current and future needs, providing both indoor and outdoor service and serves as a secondary redundant network for its wired infrastructure.

“The technology will allow us to create a better learning environment for our students by giving them the flexibility to work from anywhere,” added Mr. Sheridan.
