Media Advisory - Major Forestry Companies and Environmental Organizations to Announce Globally-Significant Agreement on Wilderness Conservation and Competitiveness

TORONTO, May 17, 2010 - The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and their 21 member
companies including Mercer International and AbitibiBowater, in conjunction
with leading Canadian and International environmental organizations such as
Greenpeace, The Nature Conservancy and Pew Environment Group, will host a
news conference to be webcast around the world, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at
which they will make a major announcement on conservation and competitiveness
in Canadian forestry.
Parties to the agreement include AbitibiBowater Ltd., Canfor, Canopy,
ForestEthics, Greenpeace, Kruger, Mercer International, Pew Environment
Group, Tembec, The Nature Conservancy, West Fraser Timber, Weyerhaeuser.
